A Slight Setback

 photo

So, we head out to work this afternoon and ran into a slight roadblock!   This is the road to our country house or should I say WAS!    In addition, after we drove the LONG way round to get there, we find no electricity.   Need I mention that we had a heavy rain yesterday?   We had just gotten a new air conditioner this week and were anticipating working in a cool house finally.   Oh well…two steps forward, one back…

More Before Pictures of our Country Home

Here are some more “before” pictures of our country home.

Anybody wanna go for a swim!?

Here is the front door, from the outside and from the inside.  It does keep the large animals out!

Doesn’t everyone want a large hot tub in their bedroom? It’s becoming a large closet.

Here is one change we’ve already made! Brian removed all the stone, raised the fireplace and created a 45 degree angle. This is in the master bedroom.

More pictures to come, hope you’ve enjoyed these!

Our Country Home

Here are some before and after pictures of our new "country home" that we are working on.

Our good friends, Brian and D'Les Danforth are sharing this 'dream house' project with us. It's the first time we have 'partnered up' and so far it's great! I'm saying about this house that we've bought a slab and stud walls - everything else needs replacing! It was old rotten cedar plank on the outside that all has to come off. We also will be replacing some of the windows - yes, this house does indeed have windows! - most of them face the deck and pool area. We plan to cover the outside walls in stucco and stone instead of brick. I'll try to post some more pics tomorrow!!

A New Challenge

Over the years, we have renovated and remodeled many homes here in the Tyler area. Some were relatively easy, needing only cosmetic repairs like paint and flooring. Others were exhausting, like our last home that needed a roof, a garage, a bigger kitchen, bathroom overhauls and more paint than you could ever imagine.

Soon, we will embark on a new challenge, and its quite certainly our biggest project to date. Stay tuned for details and pictures as we go, but here's a preview:
